About L'Emerson

L’Emerson Corporate Lodging is the brain child of longtime local hospitality and Real Estate developer Tom Fricke. Tom had purchased a home on Emerson Street where the eyesore of a building existed. Friends and neighbors encouraged Tom to purchase the building as he had done with so many properties in the neighborhood.
Tom Fricke a 20 year resident of the neighborhood is a 4th generation innkeeper so hospitality is in his blood. He had previously developed the highly successful Lovett Inn, a boarded up property he had purchased around the corner and operated it for 15 years.
The idea of a using the corporate lodging concept was meant to be a cost effective option between a hotel room and an empty apartment. Providing all of the amenities one needed to live comfortably while in Houston, without the hassle of setting up house or the expense of paying nightly room and tax.
Tom, ever involved in his community has served on the state board of directors of the Texas Hotel & Motel Association, The Neartown Association, and as a founder of the Houston GLBT Chamber of Commerce where he served as treasurer in the early years. He also served in a state appointed position as a director of the Montrose Management District that aids in planning and implementation of ideas concerning business, transportation, public safety and cultural improvements specifically targeted for the Montrose neighborhood.
